Tintype of Young Girl on Hammock
The tintype is clearer and sharper than this scan. This studio portrait shows a lack of sophistication on the part of the photographer. Notice the large black post on the floor, extending up and behind the young lady. This is the stand part of a photographer's head clamp. Head-clamps were used to prevent the sitter from moving during a long exposure. It must have worked, because you see her face clearly in the tintype. But on the other hand, this bold post ruins the mood of the hammock.Image size is 1 3/8" x 3 1/2".
